Organizational Risk Management and Sustainability: A Practical Step-by-Step Guide
    (CRC Press, 2017-01-21) Robert Pojasek
One cannot understand sustainability without consideration of the perspec tive for examining this topic. It is possible to look at sustainability from the perspective of an organization, a corporation, or a community (including city, state or province, or country). There are also a number of other perspectives people use when discussing sustainability: the needs of future generations, planet Earth (e.g., climate change and water scarcity), other stakeholders without a voice (e.g., plants and animals), and the urgency of single causes (e.g., eliminating the use of fossil fuels). The diversity of perspectives on the topic of sustainability explains the confusion over the meaning and value of sustainability. What makes matters worse is when people mix these perspec tives in a single program without knowing that perspective is so important to understanding and success in the application of sustainability. This book has been written from the perspective of an organization . I hope it will be your guide for making some sense out of this confusion.
