This project examines the role of strategic planning for the church where it allows a step back to think strategically about the church's past, present and future emerging issues the church might be facing either internally or externally impacting its ability to succeed in future. Incorporating evidence from reviews, different strategic planning books and journals, this study demonstrates that church strategic planning has been silent where many church staff lack these skills. It argues for the accessible of guidelines to up lift this part of church development. These concerns are particularly evident in the existing church strategic plans which do not fully allow churches staff to easily grasp diverse skills despite strategic planning barriers. Churches face numerous obstacles of lack of strategic planning skills hence leading to poor planning not able to guide the implementation of the vision of the church. The purpose of this research is to draw out guidelines for the church to base on developing church strategic plans. The objective is to increase literacy on how to formulate achievable strategic plans for the church.
