All agreed regarding the need, but each declined to undertake such a project. Finally, I resolved that I would have to write it myself, and proceeded to do so. The reception that the first edition received confirmed that it was meeting a need of others as well. Soon several other theologians penned similar textbooks, so that we now have more than a dozen fine evangelical introductory systematic theology books, any of which I would be pleased to use in teaching a survey of systematic theology. As the theological scene continued to change, I found it desirable to revise my original textbook in the 1990s. The translation of Christian Theology into numerous Asian and European languages was a surprising but gratifying development.enChristian TheologyBook
